Butter Cookies


1 cup (250 mL) Butter, softened
1 cup (250 mL) white sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp Salt
2 cups (500 mL) all-purpose flour
1 tsp almond extract or vanilla (or half of each)


Buttery rich cookies great for the holidays. 350°F
1. Mix all the ingredients together
2. Place by small spoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet
3. Decorate with pieces of cherry or candied fruit
4. Bake until golden brown: 10 - 11 minutes (350 degrees F)
