Directions

Stir-frying fits into today's fast paced lifestyle because it is quick, easy and nutritious. It is a Chinese cooking technique that involves quick cooking and constant stirring. Any sturdy flat bottom skillet or wok will do nicely. The secret to stir-frying is to have all the foods prepared before you begin cooking. Cut ingredients into small pieces, preferably slicing on an angle.
Heat oil until hot over moderate or high temperature. Add seasoning goods first such as garlic, onion or ginger root. Then add meat, followed by vegetables. After each food is cooked, move it to the side of the pan to make room for the next food. Remember, cook vegetables to the crisp-tender stage so that they will retain their crunchy texture and nutrients. Be sure to stir constantly while cooking. Add seasoning and thicken with cornstarch. The entire cooking should take no more than 5 - 6 minutes.

Use any combination of the suggested foods above to put together a fast stir-fry dinner.
