Cape Breton Oat Cakes
Ingredients
2 cups all bran
2 cups white flour
1 cup white sugar
1 cup shortening
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda dissolved in scant ¾ cup warm water.
Directions
- Mix shortening with dry ingredients
- Add water gradually
- Roll on floured board and cut out around an inverted saucer and then cut into four sections.
- Bake at 350°F for 12 minutes or until done.
