Yogurt Rye Bread

3 - 4 oz. (90 - 125 ml) water
1 tsp (5 ml) salt
1 egg, beaten
3/4 cup plain yogurt
1 1/2 Tbsp (22 ml) butter or margarine
11/2 Tbsp (22 ml) molasses
2 cups (500 ml) all-purpose flour
1 cup (250 ml) rye flour
1 Tbsp (15 ml) caraway seeds
1/8 tsp (1 ml) baking soda
1 3/4 tsp (9 ml) yeast

1. Add ingredients in the order suggested by your machine's instructions.
2. Mix and bake according to your machine's fresh milk, white bread setting.
3. I have used sesame and poppy seeds in place of caraway with giood results.
4. I usually use a full 2 tsp of yeast.
5. Makes 1 1/2 lb. loaf. In my machine, the bread rises higher than whole wheat but does not overflow the container as white bread usually does.
(For Bread Machine. I copied this from the recipe book of my son's breadmaker, a Regal, I think. It's a delicious, light rye.)
