Chocolate Chip Cookies


½ cup butter, margarine or shortening (or combination)
6 tbsp granulated sugar
6 tbsp brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
½ tsp vanilla
½ tsp salt
½ tsp baking soda
1 1/8 cups sifted flour
½ cup chopped nuts (optional)
16 oz. package Chipits or chocolate chips (about 1 cup)


Oven: 375°F. Combine. Bake as drop cookies, or flatten with fork dipped in cold water. Takes about 7 minutes to bake.

Note: Makes a very sweet cookie - or at least it does the way Sharon makes them.
