Nutmeg Cookies
Ingredients
¾ tsp salt
¼ tsp salt
1 cup butter or margarine
¾ cup sugar
1 egg
2 tsp vanilla
Directions
- Sift together flour, nutmeg and salt
- Cream butter, gradually add sugar, cream until fluffy
- Beat in egg and vanilla
- Stir in flour mixture
- On lightly floured surface, shape dough into ropes and cut into pieces (about 1½ - 2 inches long)
- Bake at 350°F for 12 - 15 minutes
- Allow to cool and, if desired, frost with Creamy Butter Frosting placed in an icing bag
