Butterscotch Peanut Treat
Ingredients
½ cup melted margarine or butter
2 cups chocolate wafer crumbs
Main
2 Litres (8 cups) softened ice cream (vanilla or other flavor)
1 cup coarsely chopped dry-roasted (or honey roasted) peanuts
1 cup butterscotch ice cream topping
1 cup chocolate ice cream topping
Top
2 cups frozen whipped topping, thawed or whip cream
Directions
- Add wafer crumbs to melted margarine and combine well
- Reserve ½ cup for topping
- Spread remainder into the bottom of a 9 x 13 inch (22 x 33 cm) pan, press firmly
Main
- Spoon ice cream in dabs over crust, spread evenly
- Sprinkle with peanuts
- Drizzle both ice cream toppings over peanuts
- Cover and freeze for about 1 ½ hours
Topping
- Spread whipped topping over top.
- Sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture
- Freeze until firm
Notes
- Allow dessert to warm up about ten minutes before cutting and serving
- You may find that using less ice cream toppings makes a less sweet and more enjoyable dessert
