Strawberry Angel Food
Ingredients
2 Tbsp sugar
pinch of salt
1 cup strawberries
½ 10" angel food cake - torn in pieces
1 small tub Cool-Whip
Directions
- Dissolve gelatin in 2½ cups boiling water
- Stir in strawberries, sugar and salt
- Cool until it starts to thicken
- Fold in whipped topping
- Layer pan with ½ cake followed by ½ the strawberry mixture
- repeat with remaining cake and mixture
- Refrigerate 4 to 5 hous until fully jelled.
- Garnish with more whipped topping and strawberries
- Cut into squares or spoon.
Notes:
- Left over cake or jelly roll may be substituted for angel food cake
- Strawberries may be substituted with peaches(peach Jello), raspberries(raspberry Jello), blueberries(wildberry Jello) or blackberries
