Strawberry Angel Food
Ingredients
2 Tbsp sweetner
pinch of salt
1 cup of strawberries
½ - 10" Angel Food Cake (torn into pieces)
1 small tub of Cool-whip
Directions
- Dissolve gelatin in 2½ cups boiling water
- Stir in thawed(if you use frozen) strawberries, sweetner and salt
- Cool until it begins to thicken
- Fold in whipped topping
- Cover bottom of pan with ½ of the cake pieces
- Pour over ½ of the strawberry mixture
- Spread remaining cake pieces in pan followed by remaining strawberry mixture
- Refrigerate 4 or 5 hours until fully jelled
- Garnish with more whipped topping and strawberries on top
- Cut into squares or spoon
Notes
- Instead of Angel food cake, you may also use jelly roll or any left-over cake
- The strawberries may be substituted with peaches, raspberries, blueberries or blackberries
