Basic Pancakes
Ingredients
1 egg
3 tsp. baking powder
1¼ cups milk
3 Tbsp. melted butter or vegetable oil
½ tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. sugar
¼ tsp. vanilla
Directions
- Mix together dry ingreients and make well in center
- Beat egg slightly, add milk and mix.
- Add to dry ingredients. Add melted butter and vanilla
- Stir quickly until just combined (still lumpy)
- Pour ¼ cup per pancake on hot griddle
- Cook until pancake is filled with bubble and underside is golden brown.
- Flip and continue to cook until underside is golden brown
- Serve hot with syrup, honey, jam or jelly, and bacon or sausages
- Do not turn pancakes more than once.
NOTES:
Yield: 10 - 12 pancakes
